Dear Raymond:
It was such a pleasure speaking to you today about the Greater New Jersey Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association's upcoming event, our Polo Classic, that is taking place on Saturday, June 23, 2007 at the Hillsborough Country Club in Neshantic Station, NJ.
Since its inception in 1987, the Polo Classic has raised nearly $4.3 million for the Alzheimer's Association. The Polo Classic has become the Association's premier fundraising event and it continues to grow! In fact, it is considered to be the nation's most successful polo charity event.
Over 2,000 attendees, many who are business and community leaders, will be treated to a fast-paced polo match, festivities, family entertainment, an antique and classic car display and parade, hot air balloons and so much more in a day full of fun, friends and excitement.
We are seeking magicians, jugglers and clowns willing to volunteer their time and entertain at this event. Corporate sponsors will have field-side tents, which provide the chance for them to host a unique private party or a company picnic or to entertain clients. There will also be tailgating parties and bleachers for general admission.
Entertainers can roam from tent to tent and/or, they can entertain the children at our children's tent- which we are calling "The Village." In this location, which is specifically for kids, we will have face-painters and various activities for them to do, as well as entertainment from the clowns and magicians, etc.
The "gates" open at 1PM and the polo match begins at 3 and it all ends by 5. The "peak" entertainment time is between 2PM and 4 PM, but entertainers can also arrive by 1 and remain until 5PM or work in shifts, whatever, as we are very flexible and open to what volunteers are willing to do!
I would also like to mention that our rain date is June 30th.
So- that is it in a nutshell. For more information about this event and the Greater New Jersey Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, please visit our website at www.alznj.org.
Money that is raised by events like our Polo Classic go to support the 350,000 individuals and their caregivers in New Jersey who are suffering with this disease. As the population is aging, it is imperative that we work together to fund researchers who are developing drugs to delay the onset of the disease and to eventually find a cure.
We can make a difference!
I look forward to hearing from you after your meeting on April 17th! Thank you so very much for your help!!
Sincerely,
Patricia Tupycia, Associate Director
